While Cortina's reputation as a paradise for powder hounds may be what earns it the most attention, 30% of the piste is labeled as either beginner or "advanced beginner." Most newbies tend to start off on the large, central "Ikenota" course cutting right through the heart of the resort. This wide-open, impeccably groomed run is just the right length for working on your technique without unnecessarily tiring you out. An added benefit is that this and the majority of all the runs funnel directly back to the Green Plaza Hotel, so a well-deserved break is never more than a few minutes away, and it's easy to keep track of your skiing companions as well.
